When you buy a phone, you have to look for a service provider with the best services. Apart from looking for features such as fast connection speeds and good customer care, people also look for reliable cheap communication plans to use with their gadgets. If you are to buy a plan, you will probably go for the cheapest unlimited data plan for one line with voice call minutes and text messages.
Unlimited data, voice calls, and texts allow you to use them without limits until their expiry date. Most plans expire after a month, and you only need to renew them every time you need to use them. You can even set an automatic data renewal so that you do not need to manually renew your data every time. Some plans come with unlimited everything but with data bundles that slow after using to a certain amount.
Unlimited data is nowadays fantastic due to the introduction of a 5G service. Various companies are currently offering 5G services, and so long as you have a compatible device, you can enjoy faster internet speeds for your downloads, uploads, and streaming of your favorite programs. In fact, 5G network is 20 times faster than 4G, and you can be sure that your online TV shows will always be smooth throughout your watching period.
How to choose a cheap unlimited plan
Finding the cheapest service provider may not be easy for everyone. It might be challenging to get adequate information about cheap communication services if you live in rural areas. However, a single google search could be your eye-opener.

Google and other search engines present plenty of information that can be very useful when the need arises.
iii) Look for posters and other advertisement channels.
Service providers usually advertise the sweetest deals to potential customers. You can see posters and billboards in the nearest town, and for sure you cannot miss an advert containing some exciting plans. Televisions also air advertisements about communication companies.
iv) Visit the nearest branches of service providers.
Communication companies usually have branches in various parts of the country. If you live in a town, you cannot miss a shop or two for a particular carrier. You can request printouts to check the cheapest phone plans with unlimited everything to use with your device.
Which are the eight cheapest unlimited data plans for one line?
After doing detailed research, I have come up with the following plans, which are currently the cheapest. Have a look.
1) Verizon Play More Unlimited
The Verizon Play More Unlimited is the best unlimited data plan you can have for your line. The plan goes for $80 per month with an Auto-Pay discount plus a $35 Upfront. The plan from Verizon offers you unlimited data with countrywide coverage. It has no contract, and you can opt-out any time you feel like it.
Upon purchasing the plan, you get unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data within the USA. You will also benefit from unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada. The plan also gives you 15GB of high-speed data for mobile hotspots, giving you unlimited hotspots at 3G speeds. The 3G unlimited data has a high premium data threshold of 50GB before you start getting a slow connection.
Interestingly, the plan allows you to enjoy free subscriptions to ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu. You also get free access to Apple Music for up to six months. Generally, the plan is suitable for excellent coverage across the country, with a great entertainment package, a high-speed data allowance, and a large hotspot data allowance.
2) Mint Mobile 3-Month Unlimited Plan
The Mint Mobile 3-Month Unlimited Plan from Mint Mobile is my second choice among the cheapest plans you can have for your device. The plan offers unlimited data with no contract, and thus, you can terminate the service at will. The plan has a running promotion whereby you get one free month when you buy the plan for three months. You only need to use the promo code SWITCH to benefit from the offer.
Interestingly, the plan goes for $30 per month. You can pay $90 for three months, and the renewal price for three months will be $40/mo. The plan gives you unlimited talking, text, and high-speed data plus a 5GB of mobile hotspot. You will also get access to the Mint’s 5G network in places where it is covered. Do not worry about whether your area has coverage since Mint will automatically pop the 5G service wherever it is available.
Furthermore, the Mint Mobile plan gives you free international calling to Canada and Mexico. In general, the plan is good due to its low price, free 5G network access, international calling, and excellent hotspot allowance. The only shortcoming is that you must pay for the total cost upfront.
3) Visible $40 Unlimited Plan
The plan from Visible is one of the cheapest data in the market, whereby you pay $40 for four lines. You get unlimited access to Verizon’s fantastic 4G LTE network coverage. That makes it a perfect family plan where you can connect several users using the hotspot feature. Even though the hotspot speeds are low, whereby Visible caps them at 5 Mbps, you can access essential internet services.
Interestingly, you can pay $25/line on Visible’s Party Pay program apart from the $40 family plan and still enjoy the best services ever. Like many others, the plan has no contract whatsoever. Currently, Visible has a promotion where you can get a $50 Virtual Gift Card upon switching to the carrier plus 2 months of service for only $15/mo.
Generally, the plan has the lowest price for high-speed unlimited data since it operates on Verizon’s network, which is among the strongest networks ever. You will also get unlimited hotspot access. Unfortunately, the plan has no premium data allowance, and your data can slow at any time.
4) AT&T Unlimited Elite
AT&T Unlimited Elite plan from AT&T gives you unlimited data under no contract at all. It costs $85 per month with AutoPay & Paperless billing. Currently, the carrier has a promotion whereby you can get up to $500 bill credits with a new line with $250 per line.
Again, the plan comes with 30GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data. You also get a free subscription to HBO Max. Above all, the plan has excellent network coverage and gives you a free HBO Max subscription. However, it has few perks compared to its price.
5) T-Mobile Magenta MAX
Apart from T-Mobile being one of the companies that give free cell phone service for life with unlimited everything on the Lifeline program, the company has other plans that you can benefit from if you do not qualify for the lifeline program.
T-Mobile Magenta MAX is one of the best plans you can have and get a reliable connection. The plan is completely different from others in that. It gives you unlimited access to high-speed data without slowing down. Most plans only give you unlimited internet connection with high connection speeds, but T-Mobile won’t do that on its T-Mobile Magenta MAX plan.
You will therefore enjoy 4G or 5G network speeds depending on coverage. Gaming and streaming of videos will never be the same again once you subscribe to the service.
Above all, you only pay $85 per month, with no contract at all, and you can leave at your will. One of the reasons you should consider the plan is that your speeds will never slow, and you have a perfect guarantee to get buffer-free streaming and gaming.
6) T-Mobile Unlimited Business
If you own an enterprise that relies on large data and fast connection speeds, then T-Mobile Unlimited Business is a good option. You can purchase $60 per line per month or twelve lines for $30 per line per month. The plan gives you unlimited talk, texting, and data within the U.S. You also get 3G speed mobile hotspot data at no extra cost. Furthermore, you get 5 GB of data with connection speeds of up to 4G LTE speed in Mexico and Canada.
Additionally, the T-Mobile Unlimited Business allows you to stay connected abroad with over 210+ destinations of the world with unlimited texting on Gogo-enabled flights to, from, and within the United States. You will also get 20GB of 4G LTE hotspot data for your mobile, voicemail to text, unlimited in-flight Wi-Fi, HD streaming, and caller ID.
7) AT&T Business Unlimited
AT&T brings you the Business Unlimited plan that comes with the option of a Private Wi-Fi, a smartphone app that provides a VPN plus Wi-Fi alerts once you connect to any unencrypted Wi-Fi network. Furthermore, the plan gives you unlimited talk and texting to Canada and Mexico plus zero roaming charges in s0me countries. Furthermore, you get SD video streaming plus autopay discounts.
Additionally, you get a 15 GB mobile hotspot per month plus HD video streaming. Prices for the plan start at $70 per month for one line. You can opt for up to 10 lines and get more discounts.
8) Google Fi
Google Fi has its own unlimited internet plan that you can buy online. The plan costs $20 for unlimited texts and calls. Again, you pay $10 for every GB of data that you use. If you do not use a lot of data, you will find the service enjoyable.
There is no contract for the plan meaning there are no contract or cancellation fees. Even though the plan works on all operating systems, you will get faster connections on a Google device such as the Google Pixel.
How to buy unlimited plans
There are two types of data plans. We have the prepaid and the postpaid data plans. Prepaid data plans are the ones you pay for before use. Most carriers, especially the Mobile Virtual Network Operators, have data plans requiring you to pay before use. On the other hand, postpaid data plans are the ones that allow you to use the services and pay after the month.
They are more expensive than prepaid data plans. Most carriers allow you to pay your plans using various payment platforms such as PayPal, debit, and credit cards accounts.
Where else can I get cheap data plans?
There are other ways you can get cheap internet plans. They include the following.
- Lifeline Program
- Emergency Broadband Benefit program (EBB)
i. Lifeline Program
Lifeline is a federal government program that helps low-income families with cheap plans. If you are a Lifeline beneficiary, you can benefit from cheap data plus texts and voice call minutes. The program also gives you a free cell phone, no money down, no credit check as long as you meet the eligibility requirements.
You can get the service via various US carriers, such as Assurance Wireless, Access Wireless, Assist Wireless, Easy Wireless, Q Link Wireless, and Life Wireless, among others. Each service provider has its stipulated plan to offer the service to those who qualify.
ii. Emergency Broadband Benefit program (EBB)
The Emergency Broadband Benefit program is an ongoing but temporary service that allows low-income households to access cheap communication plans. When the Covid’19 pandemic broke out, many people were left jobless and started to struggle to stay connected.
The government decided to bring in the EBB program that provides discounts of up to $50 per month towards a broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 to eligible Tribal Lands. Just like Lifeline, the program allows only a single beneficiary in a household, and others in the house can benefit from free cell phone service without paying, thanks to their participating family member.
There are various cheap unlimited data plans for one line from various service providers. Such plans allow you to enjoy unlimited data up to a certain level where the data speed slows. Some plans are unique to give you uniform connection speeds until the next subscription period. Most of these plans come with unlimited text and calls. The Lifeline program and the recent EBB are also sources of cheap data.
